Project Background:

A number of HD’s customers were experiencing internal difficulties in efficiently designing and developing new medical devices. Design team sizes needed to increase to satisfy business and regulatory requirements but any new systems needed to be lean so as not to delay device development. As an independent design consultancy Haughton Design has to earn its revenue through a highly effective design process so we were approached to work with the client’s design teams to create new design systems and controls. By working together with our colleagues in the MDA we have created lean methods to improve development projects, including Robust Design, DFMEA’s, Tolerance Analysis Systems and Tooling Verification Procedures.
